In 2019, the idea that an an innovative, uncompromising and sustainable enterprise could be achieved through collaboration came to like minded friends Federico Zanellato and Karl Firla. The seeds for that alliance were sown and the opportunity to make it a reality would present itself shortly afterwards.
In February 2020 Chef/Owners of Lumi Dining and Oscillate Wildly would combine creative forces to breathe life into a fresh multi facetted dining concept & Espresso bar, leo & Picco_leo is amongst great company in the dynamic Angel place and Ash Street, Sydney’s premier laneway dining precinct.
With a vast knowledge of the local fine dining scene in Sydney we have Independently been awarded Two Hats by the SMH Good Food Guide and have been regular fixtures in the Top 100 restaurants in Australia list.
Our commitment to quality is paramount, from seasonal produce sourced for our menu, our alliance with Little Marionette coffee, to the versatility in our concept driven cocktail and wine list.

On Monday we will only be serving Pizza and some a' la carte entrees.

Travels abroad landed Federico in the heart of Sydney’s food scene with time as head chef at Omeggio , leading him to creating the current and successful LuMi Bar & Dining in Sydney’s hip Pyrmont neighborhood. The intimate dining is the ultimate commitment to innovation and origin, with an Italian heart and a Japanese mind, LuMi’s success is no surprise. For leo this means not only like-minded individuals and DNA to match but a new venture that brings the best of both together.
In Sydney for several years working with industry icons Mark Best at Marque restaurant and Peter Doyle at Merivales Est, Karl ventured to Newtown to become Chef / Owner of the bite size restaurant Oscillate Wildly for a successful 10-year stint. His passion for contemporary food was best understood at OW, where his journey on a plate saw art consumed by your eyes as well as your senses. Now collaboration through like-minded individuals, Karl and Federico have joined forces for their first venture combining industries best DNA to create leo.
